Paula Shirley (Freed)

Paula Raye Freed, along with her twin sister, Sharon Garrigan, were born to Willie E. Shirley and Myrtle Ann Shirley on December 17, 1944 in Paoli. Indiana. She was a very loving and caring woman, who lit up a room with her smile. Even in her time of sickness and poor health, she had that same constant smile. She enriched the lives of all who knew her—her grandkids thought that she was the best grandma in the whole world.

She had a personal relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ and was an active member of Cornerstone Church, SBC. She was very active in the church until her illness made it impossible for her to attend. She lived and shared her faith through her relationships with her family and friends.

She and her husband, Ron made their home in Parker, Colorado after the completion of a 28 -year career in the United States Air Force. She also worked for the Department of Treasury for twenty years in secretarial and communications positions. As an Air Force wife, Paula traveled all over Europe and then extensively in the United States as a government employee. Additionally, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and marvelous cook.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, mother and son, Robert. She leaves behind her husband; daughters Cynthia and Kimberly from Parker, CO; three grandsons, Hunter, Kyle and Joshua and two granddaughters, Megan and Taylor; a sister, Donna and a brother, Rick from Paoli, IN; plus, nieces and nephews.

This wonderful woman will be forever adored by her family and friends. She was the picture of love and devotion and she will be greatly missed.
