Madge L. (Cooper) Thornton

November 10, 1941 – December 17, 1992

Madge Louise Thornton, 51, 2010 Steven Ave., Bedford, formerly of Paoli, died at 9:10 a.m. Thursday at Bedford Medical Center.  She had been in failing health for the last six months.

Born in Mitchell, she was the daughter of John William and Lillian (Kindall) Cooper.  She married George W. Thornton.

She worked at Foam Craft in Mitchell, was a member of Second Baptist Church in Bedford, a member of the Usher Board, and member and secretary of Senior Choir.

Survivors include one son, George W. Thornton Jr. of Bloomington; three daughters; Cindy Louise Thornton Morgan of Hammond, Marisha Joan Thornton and Roenna Carole Thornton, both of Bedford; step-father, William Norris; step-mother, Cornelia Norris; grandmother Mattie Thornton; three brothers: William Norris Jr. of Utica, N.Y., the Rev. Ronnie Norris of Evansville, and Johnny Cooper of North Vernon; one sister, Mildred Bolin of French Lick; and three grandsons.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Bass Cemetery.
